Dr. H.K. Pradhan of XLRI joins the Governing Council of ICCE

Professor of Finance and Economics at XLRI, Xavier School Management, Jamshedpur, India, Dr. H.K. Pradhan has joined other global economists on the Governing Council of the Institute of Certified Chartered Economists (ICCE).

The Institute of Certified Chartered Economists (ICCE) is a professional body for economists committed to raising economics professionals with the highest ethical standards through quality education and collaborative learning. The Institute provides the Chartered Economists designation.

Dr. H.K. Pradhan has been Professor of Finance and Economics at XLRI, Xavier School of Mnagement, Jamshedpur, with 35 years of experience in teaching, research, and consulting. He has a master from the Utkal University, an M Phil & Ph.D. from the University of Pune and was a Fulbright Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Columbia University Business School, New York.

Commenting on his appointment,

“I look forward to seeing the vision of ICCE translating into reality, ensuring my utmost support.  As in any such global accreditation certification, diverse and cross country experts (in the field of economics, and related areas) on the Council will definitely lend credibility, I am happy to be part of it.” He said.

Dr. Pradhan is presently an Independent Director of the State Bank of India-DFHI and Trustee Board of the Yes Mutual Fund, Mumbai. He also served as the Chairman, The Indian Commodity Exchange (ICEX), Mumbai, member of the RBI Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) on Financial Markets, Independent Director of the SBI Mutual Fund, member of the Board of Micro Credit Rating International Ltd (MCril), member of the Index & Option Committee of the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange (NCDEX), Mumbai, and also served as member of the Board of XLRI.

He worked as the Pacific Regional Advisor for the Commonwealth Secretariat, London, while serving concurrently as the Resident Debt Advisor with the Ministry of Finance, Government of Fiji Islands, during 2005-2007. He served as debt advisor for several Commonwealth developing countries, expert for the United Nations in the Finance for Development (FfD) initiative, consultant to the Asian Development Bank on Municipal Finance, and to the Crown Agents, London, on sub-national debt management.
